Many of the members of Desperate Measures started to meet for jazz jam sessions in late 2008 but it wasn't until after their first performance in Tavistock Town Hall in May 2009 that they started to think of themselves as a band.
Rehearsals moved from a cellar in a private house to the village hall in Meavy which has the advantage of being opposite a nice pub.
In June 2009 the band emerged like a butterfly with a new name "Desperate Measures" to play some summer afternoon jazz on the village green at Milton Coombe and since then they have performed at a large variety of events.
Find out more about the members of the band on our meet the band page.
